A new feature in LAMS 2.3.4 allows Monitors to specify an 'end point' for selected activities.
What this does is effectively lock learners out from further contributions to specific activities.
| Limitations Currently, this feature is only available for Submit Files, Multiple Choice, Chat, Voting, Notebook, Task List, Mind Maps and Assessment. |
Adding a Date/Time Restriction to an Activity
First, you need an active running sequence. You can only set Date/Time Restrictions from withing Monitoring, not the Authoring environment.- Open the sequence in Monitoring, then, on the Sequence tab select the activity you want to restrict.
- Expand the "Restrict Usage" section, then select your desired date and time from the calendar:
- Click Set Restriction and you're done.
- Now when Learners access the activity BEFORE the restriction, LAMS will display:

The teacher has set a restriction for submission from (Whatever Date and Time you have selected.) - After the restriction, the message will change to:

The teacher has set a restriction for submission from (Whatever Date and Time you have selected.)
In addition, none of the controls for the activity will be active.
- Now when Learners access the activity BEFORE the restriction, LAMS will display:
Removing Restrictions
| To reverse the restriction (in other words, unlocking the activity) go back to the activity in monitor and click Remove Restriction. |
