* There are several media types you can select:
\\
|| *.avi* | Audio Video Interleave | Video and Audio. |
|| *.flv* | Flash Video | Audio and Video. Used on youtube, google video, etc. |
|| *.mov* | Quicktime Movie | Audio, Video. More common on Mac systems. |
|| *.mp3* | *not MPEG-3*.  | Common audio format. |
|| *.mp4* | MPEG-4 | Common audio/video file. |
|| *.mpv* | iPod video file [See here.|http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html]
|| *.wma* | Windows Media Audio | Windows proprietary audio file. |
|| *.wmv* | Windows Media Video | Windows proprietary audio/video file. |
|| *.f4v* | Flash Video. {note}We've had some problems with testing this on non-quicktime systems. Best to avoid this format if possible.{note} |

* The media player can also pull content directly from video sites such as Youtube.

h2. Uploading and Playing Media

# Click the *Insert Media* (!Using the FCKEditor^fck_media.png!) button.
# In the properties box that appears, click *Browse Server.* \\ !Using the FCKEditor^fck_mediaBox.png|thumbnail!
# The FCKEditor file browser will appear. \\ !fck_browse.png|thumbnail!
** If you have previously uploaded a media file, you can select it in the main window and include it on the page.
** To upload a new file from your computer, click *Browse...* and select the file to upload. \\ The file will appear in the file browser window. \\ Click the filename to add the file.
# If necessary, you can specify the dimensions for the object, and selecting *Autoplay* means that the file will play as soon as the page loads, rather than learners having to click play.

{tip} The FCK Media player automatically selects the appropriate codec for each file using inbuilt Open source codecs.  There is no need to select the appropriate filetype as this is done automatically! {tip}

h2. Youtube Videos

To insert a youtube video into a LAMS page, simply add the URL of the video to the Media player.
